Situated on the edge of Sonoma Valley, Nicholson Ranch is one of those hidden gems that not only offers the visitor an opportunity to visit a fabulous winery away from the crowds, but also some very tasty wines that you won’t find in any retail store. Nicholson Ranch is a beautiful place to enjoy some elegant wines, its grounds a brief refuge from the rest of the world. I love visiting on a warm sunny day, taking in the magnificent country views. The winery hosts tours of the vineyard, their fermentation facilities and even their wine cave. Their bright tasting room features local artwork and seating, a comfortable place to sample their pinot noir on those chilly trips. For those warmer days, a glass of their rosé wine while lounging on the terrace is time well spent.
I had the opportunity to go to Nicholson Ranch last year for a good friend’s wedding (talk about a great place to have a wedding!) and tried all of their amazing wines (it had been a while since I had found a chardonnay that I liked!). At the end of the night, I made sure to purchase a couple of bottles of their rosé to take home.
Wine tastings consist of a flight of six wines and the selections are rotated throughout the year. Tours are approximately 1.5 hours in length and are available both as part of a group as well as on a private basis. |Nicholson Ranch|
