Located on Yerba Buena Lane, adjacent to Market Street, Amber India is consistently one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited in the city. Amber’s delectable and extremely high quality Indian cuisine, paired with their attention-grabbing decor, makes for the perfect place to impress a date or enjoy a fine night out with friends. If the plan is to simply relax and take the edge off after a long day of work, try going for a seat in their colorful lounge, accompanied by their specialty drink, a Pimm’s on Amber.
The cuisine is an amalgam of several regional dishes and Indian street food, which offers diners the chance to try several different dishes from across India. Be sure to order the Butter Chicken, which is their signature dish. For those with more experimental tastes, try the Palak Chaat, which is an appetizer with flash fried spinach, yogurt and tamarind chutney, and the Awadhi Lamb Qorma, a lamb leg curry with cashew nuts and an assortment of spices. Be sure to accompany your meal with some of their fresh Naan and Roti, which are the perfect complement to soak up these hearty dishes. Their lunch buffet, while slightly more than average Indian buffets elsewhere, is definitely a great value and offers a wide variety of tasty options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. |Amber India|
